Deep Dive: Jupiter Enters Aries

When: 11/5 at 9:22am (AEST); 12:22pm (Lon) + 7:22am (NYC)

Welcome to the start of a new cycle

Jupiter moves into Aries on the 11th of May. As the first sign of the zodiac this holds with it the promise that we are entering new territory when it comes to an understanding of the world, of our abundance and even the ways in which we limit ourselves. This is an energy of ignition, and it’s calling for you to dive head first into the energy.

It’s time to fire up for the next 11 years

Jupiter has a notorious 11 year cycle. Something that is important, because it’s the same as a couple of other cycles. The Sun’s magnetic field for one has an 11 year cycle. Where every cycle it flips and the north + south poles switch places. Added to that it’s been found in science that the body’s cells replace themselves every 7-10 years, meaning that as Jupiter enters Aries you are biologically a different person to the one that experienced the previous transit in 2011. It also means by the end of this cycle you won’t be the same person that started it. So in effect there is a sense of renewal associated with it.

Jupiter is the explorer + the optimist

Jupiter holds within it what the poet Robert Bly might label ‘Zeus Energy’. It is the energy of the healed masculine. One that has separated from its ‘mother’ and understands the responsibility of its independence. It is an adult energy and yet it calls for us to be curious, optimistic and explorative. Jupiter energy loves stepping into the unknown, discovering new wisdom and exploring life. Underpinning this is an attitude that you are always looked after by the universe. There is a sense of abundance that follows Jupiter wherever it goes.

This is a time to invite in the warrior spirit

As Jupiter enters Aries the energy of our inner warrior is given the permission to rise and explore. Warrior energy is strong when we revel in the unknown and the mysteries of the world; when we feel fearless in meeting our own underworld and we live for the thrill slaying our own inner demons in order to create a greater sense of peace for all. A warriors job is not to fight (funnily enough), but to reinstate harmony. As such Jupiter’s shift into Aries - where he will remain until the 28th of October (when he will dip back into Pisces) is a time to find inner courage, to fight for your own peace and face those demons of the ego that are ready to be understood + loved.

This is a time to manifest on a big scale

Yes we are in Eclipse Season, so anything goes. That said, Jupiter’s entry to Aries is a beautiful time to dream and even lay some big intentions for what you want to bring into your life over the next 11 years. I know sometimes I don’t even know what I’m doing tomorrow, and to think about the next decade is a lot. Really it’s an invitation to co-create, to think about what you want to call in and how you want to feel over this next period of your life. It can also have some seriously big spiritual quest energy sitting behind it. Jupiter is after all Zeus by a different name - who is the ‘Ruler of Heaven’.
