I’ve ALWAYS been surrounded by stars
When I was born, a friend of my mother’s presented her with my astrology natal chart, handwritten on a piece of paper. She rushed to the hospital to give it to her, almost as if showing her some pre-emptive glance at where my interest would lie.
As we all know the universe as a wicked sense of humour.
As it happened my interest in astrology took a while to blossom, but over my years it’s been like picking up puzzle pieces that have helped me assemble my own brand of what I call archetypal astrology. A type of astrology that unpicks the story of our lives, using the metaphors from myths that stem the ages. It shines a light on your agreements with the cosmos from well before you were incarnated on this planet and in this body.
IT ALL STARTED WITH ANCIENT MYTHS
The first puzzle piece I picked up on this journey was one that stemmed from a strong, almost obsessed interest in Greek and Roman mythology from a very young age. I would spend hours devouring any book I could get my hands on. The irony, as we know, our solar system is named after Roman gods and goddess. So I learnt the energies and stories of each of the planets and they how they related to one another. This early interest also opened my world to archetypes – the universal patterns and stories that live in our global collective unconscious.
THEN AN INTENSE INTEREST IN HUMAN BEHAVIOUR AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
The second piece of the puzzle came through my interest in human behaviour which led me to study psychology at both school and university, including a summer school at Harvard focused on Freud, Jung, Psychotherapy and Neuroscience. This time taught me about human behaviour and importantly the role our subconscious plays in hiding very important information from us. Something that archetypes help to unlock.
ADD IN A LOT OF PRACTICE WITH ARCHETYPES AND MY OWN SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
The third piece was my most recent career in advertising, where as a strategist I learned about universal truths – what I would now term the collective unconscious – that underpin all human nature. I also continued to work with the same archetypes that appear in our cosmos and those described by Jung from my university days, but now applying these energies to businesses.
In fact during this time I was given a fourth piece of the puzzle - arguable the largest piece of the puzzle - when I went through the start of my own spiritual awakening, at 28 no surprises here, and started to understand not just my physical body but the soul that lived beneath it. The pain I was going through in my material world, set me deeper into understanding my transcendent self. In the process I learned through Yoga, competing my Vinyasa and Yin training, and in process being exposed to Hindu mythology. This naturally got me interested in its sister Buddhism. Through this interested I completed my study this time through a course called ‘Buddhism and Modern Psychology’.
NOW, ENTER THE MAGIC OF ARCHETYPAL ASTROLOGY AND CHANNELING
The final piece of the puzzle, for now at least, has been the one where I started to open to my own power. I learned that archetypes weren’t things outside of me but rather things I could embody and connect with through mediation and shamanic practices. Through this process of learning within ancient rituals, I also realised I could channel. (PS. This is something we can all can do). This final piece of the puzzle allowed me to connect with the cosmos through an astrology chart, see it’s cast of characters and then hook into the universal stream of consciousness to decipher the story behind it.
This is something I live to share and use it to be of service to others. My intention is what we find in your chart opens you further to your cosmic gifts.
Finally, I ascribe to the old Hermetic saying: as above, so below; as within, so without and as the cosmos, so the soul. As we unpack your chart, you will see your cosmic nature before you, and resonate deeply with the choices you have maybe unconsciously and consciously made so far in life. You are mythic. You are the universe being made aware of itself.
