Chiron Moves into Aries (2019 - 2027)

Key Dates: 18th February, 2019 Chiron moves from Pisces into Aries for the next 8 years (11pm AEDT).

Before we start, if you want to get really technical Chiron was in Aries last year (in March last year), however he moved into a retrograde period and so moved back into Pisces. As of the 18th of February, he will have caught up that lost ground and will be direct in Aries for the the next 8 years.

When it comes to Astrology big movements of minor planets (like Chiron - which is also disputably a comet) or planets tend to mean a new perspective or angle to the characteristics or elements of life they control. This is definitely the case with Chiron, also known as the ‘wounded healer’ moving from the very dreamy Pisces into the fiery Aries.

As an FYI, Chiron takes 50 years to go around the astrological wheel (aka go through each sign) - some he spends ages in like he will with Aries and others he transits much quicker like Libra.

WHO EVEN IS CHIRON?

I know this is not a celestial body we are taught about in school but Chiron sits out between Saturn and Uranus. Chiron was only a relatively recent discovering in astrology/ astronomy - he was discovered on November 1st, 1997. So he’s a very new addition to the chart.

His position is important in how we interpret him in a chart. Saturn is the last visible planet to the naked eye, beyond that we need to bring in the telescope. Chiron is therefore seen like a bridge between Saturn and Uranus - connecting, in a a metaphorical sense the known and unknown worlds. To give some more context Chiron holds almost shamanic, healer like properties in how we interpret him in a chart. He will show us where you hold your greatest wound and equally where you hold the greatest power to heal others.

If you want to get familiar with the Chiron myth before we get going see here. Ok we could nerd out a big longer on some key facts about Chiron and his transits, but I’m assuming you just want to get to the juicy stuff…like what does this even mean.

WHAT DID CHIRON IN PISCES FEEL LIKE?

Before we jump into Chiron in Aries, let’s get a feeling for the energy of this celestial body in Pisces. Chiron has been in Pisces since April 2010. Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac and is seen as carrying elements of all preceding signs - making it incredibly mystical. Traditionally Pisces lives in the 12 house on a chart, and is ruled by Neptune (god of the sea). It’s the sign of idealism, dreams, the subconscious and past life karma. Essentially all the things that are sitting just below the surface of our normal conscious lives.

Chiron in Pisces is representative of a time where many of us have ‘woken up’ to realising there is more to life than what meets the eye. In the case of Chiron this would have come about from a deep wounding we have forcing us to make the unconscious conscious in order to heal ourselves. It may have felt as though pre-2010 we were walking through life without feeling it’s full depth. A bit like trying to eat food with a burnt tongue - never really getting the full flavour. In fact we may have been totally distracted by our career, or status (given it was in the sign of Capricorn).

Chiron in Pisces (particularly if you have this planet conjunct your sun, moon, on your ascendent or in the sign of pisces on your natal chart) over the past 8 years would have been like a having your head pulled suddenly under the water to see what lies beneath - this time you were given googles and a snorkel - so you could really see what was down there.

Over this period of time, you have learned so much about the more hidden aspects of your life…the things your ego probably hoped would be brushed under a rug. All for the better! No doubt, on the back of Chiron's transit of Pisces, you’ve been able to experience life in higher definition. Yes, the wounds caused may not have healed but they have given you incredibly powers to help others and to understand who you are.

Ok on we go…

SO WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH ARIES?

I’m going to build this out in two sections. Before we get to what does Chiron in Aries mean, we’re going to get a feel for what Aries is all about. Aries is ruled by Mars (Yes, God of WAR!)…don’t freak out - he’s freaking amazing and he gets stuff done very quick.  Aries is also typically the ruler of the First House on the chart, as it’s the very first sign in the Zodiac. So you can see any time a planet shows up here, it’s indicating the start of a new cycle or journey. That’s exactly what’s up with Chiron, you’re about to start a brand new cycle of learning.

The first house typically rules your identity and ego - how you see yourself. Again another hint with how Chiron will show up. Finally it’s important to talk about how Aries energy feels. Aries is by nature a more warrior energy - it’s impulsive, high energy, very direct…there’s no fluffing around here…in essence it knows what it wants to do very quickly and it won’t back down until it gets it. It can show up sometimes as being a little competitive, but in it’s divine for it’s the energy of a hero  -  someone who’s come to save the day... But in the case of Chiron you are your own saviour.

FINALLY CHIRON IN ARIES, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

I know finally!

Ok Chiron is going to feel so very different to his time in Pisces. He’s still going to be the wounded healer - shedding light on where you hold your greatest wounds and also upgrading your ability to heal - but these next 8 years your head is being pulled back out of the water and onto dry land. With a bunch of knowledge about your subconscious on board we’re going to be focused on how we integrate that into our actual identity. Yes, hello ego! But more than that we’re talking about a new cycle all together.

We’re starting that new cycle with looking at ourselves in our day to day life. I need to mention this is not going to be a walk in the park…in case you didn’t pick up those vibes from the description of Aries…this is going to be direct, energetic and persistent. This will be a time where negative self talk, lack of self love, and issues with identity get put under the microscope. Yes, shit will show up if you’re ‘doing the work’ but know that that “shit” does not define you.

Over the next 8 years, you’re going to become your own hero. After all only you can save you. This is the feeling of Chiron in Aries. It’s the realisation that when we heal ourselves, we heal others. When we love ourselves, we love the world. Our wounds are all the same and our ability to heal is infinite. Welcome to 8 years of you becoming your own saviour. Hell yes!

FYI. I’ll chat about Chiron as the year goes on and how he shows up with new moons, full moons etc. If you haven’t signed up to our newsletter that will all be in there.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR THE 18TH?

So when Chiron moves signs at approximately 11pm (Sydney AEDT) into Aries, we will also have a full moon in Virgo about 3 hours later and also the sun moving into Pisces the following day. So lots of juicy, releasing energy. Symbolically the start of a new season, with the start of a new Chiron cycle. This will only add to the energy. I just want to point out a couple of things in the sky when Chiron goes into Aries.

Firstly, he will start his move into Aries in the fourth house - which is the house of daily habits, health and wellbeing. He’s got some beautiful energy in this move coming from three big masculine bodies the Sun, Mars (ruler of Aries) and Uranus. This all talks to big, potentially unexpected change in how you see yourself defined by your daily habits. Potentially he’ll be pointing out some things you need to fix or change in the day-to-day in order to truely respect your divine self. That could be how you exercise, what you eat…all those things that relate to your wellbeing.

Enjoy the change in Chiron, it’s going to be magic.  You are magic!
